“I come here from Taos, New Mexico, close to the ancestral home of my maternal lineage. We are here in North Dakota at the sacred gathering to protect the waters. We are specifically here to stop the pipeline that would bring in the oil and contaminate the very important water source, but its turning into something much bigger than that. There have been a lot of prayers that people have held in themselves and their communities, a prayer for transformation, a prayer to come back to sacred indigenous knowledge, to remember how to live in right relationship with ourselves, in right relationship with our sisters and brothers, in right relationship with the Earth, in right relationship with the elements… And so, we have come back here for reeducation, we have come back to say that this is important to us, that we are ready to learn again, and for those who are carrying the sacred knowledge which ultimately lives within each of us, for us to find each other again so we don’t have to be in a state of disempowerment about the wisdom of what we know. So, we have come back here to remember, to remember something about who we are, where we come from and where we are going. Because we are at a point of a critical shift in humanity right now, we have to create a positive transformation more quickly than the dark can consume us. We have to start to embrace the light that we are carrying within and let that guide the way in times that seemed dark and we are clouded by ignorance and confusion and we have to come together and to be strong and illuminate our values, our values of living in health and well being, which is spiritual well being as well as physical well being and seeing that they are not separate from one another, they are one.”
